Item Description:  Up for auction is a neat LOT of 5 vintage magazines, focusing on black culture, history, politics, fashion, entertainment industry, sports, etc.. You get everything shown in the first 2 photos. The lot includes 2 JET magazines, 2 EBONY magazines, and one ESSENCE magazine. All of the magazines have an intact spine, and are in good overall condition with no missing pages. All but one (JET magazine w/ Whitney Houston cover) of the magazines has either an address label or remnant of a label on the cover. Inner pages show the expected age toning. Included are:

• PAIR vintage JET magazines, October 9, 1969, Vol. XXXVII No. 1, right near the end of the Civil Rights Era/Movement. Contains photos and articles featuring James Brown, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sammy Davis, Jr., Fergie Jenkins, Diana Ross, Angela Davis. The other "Jet" magazine is dated Feb. 16, 1987, Vol. 71 No. 21, and features Whitney Houston on the cover. Contains photos and articles featuring Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael and Janet Jackson, Mike Tyson, Clifton Davis, Eartha Kitt, and more. 
  
• June 1981 EBONY magazine with Jesse Jackson on the cover (dog-eared pages, cover wear)
• June 1986 EBONY magazine with Diahann Carroll on the cover (very good condition)
• Jan. 1988 ESSENCE magazine with Iman the model on the cover (very good condition)
