Ludwig 1965's PIONEER 14"x5" Blue Duco #147241 Used Snare Drum

Ludwig 1965's PIONEER 14"x5" Blue Duco #147241 Used Snare Drum

Ludwig's vintage PIONEER is now in stock! !
This is believed to be a 1965 model based on the inner stamp, making it a very valuable piece.

[PIONEER]
Vintage LUDWIG is famous for its 8-tension JAZZ FESTIVAL, which was also used by Ringo Starr, but this PIONEER, which was released for the general public, was characterized by its open and bright sound and received a lot of support from drummers at the time. This is a model I've been collecting.
Since it has 6 tensions, the tuning range is not that wide, but the soft and wide open sound is a sound that only this model can produce!

[situation]
The shell, hoop, lugs, etc. have pits, small scratches, and rust that are appropriate for the age.
There are multiple scratches on the shell.
Snappy's twist is a little strong.
You can still use it without any problems with the inner mute or strainer operation!

[sound]
The sound of the mahogany poplar shell, which has dried over the years, has a dry and warm sound that cannot be produced by modern snares, and it is still used in recordings because it comes out at the right moment. is expanding.
The extremely open rumble and expansive sound created by 6 tensions are typical of Ludwig!
The mild nuances typical of vintage, which have been stripped off over many years of being played, have been added, resulting in a surprisingly clean and cohesive sound.
In addition, this individual comes with a brass hoop and a brass washer.
It has a very good balance between just the right amount of looseness and a solid attack sound, and the overall well-organized sound is very attractive!
Since the Blue Duco color has a lacquer finish, it has a more natural and open sound compared to the covered color.
This is a snare drum that allows you to expand the width of your sound by having one!
