I am very pleased to offer a rare and truly golden commemorative of Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip’s Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrated on 13th November 1997, the 50th Anniversary of their 1947 wedding.

This rare commemorative gold coin and postage stamp Limited Edition set features an actual 1974 Queen Elizabeth II 22-Carat Crown Fine Gold Bullion Half-Sovereign (3.99 gms) encapsulated in a ‘Benham Sovereign Collection’ Royal Golden Wedding Stamp Cover with a full set of 4 British 1997 ‘Golden Wedding’ postage stamps tied with a special commemorative ‘Romsey Hampshire’ handstamp postmark, Romsey Hampshire being where the Royal couple spent their honeymoon.

This Queen Elizabeth II 1974 22-Carat Crown Fine Gold Bullion Half-Sovereign was the first year the high grade gold bullion was used, and the first time sculptor Arnold Machin’s 2nd profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was used on gold sovereign coins. The reverse of the half-sovereign has the magnificent Benedetto Pistrucci engraving of St. George slaying the Dragon.

This rare set had a strictly limited edition of just 2000 serial numbered sets, this set being serial numbered 1750.

The set comes in a beautiful carded 10 x 6¾ inch custom presentation folder which includes the set’s Certificate of Authenticity.

I purchased this set directly from Benham in 1997, and with it having never been displayed and also stored correctly, it is in pristine mint condition.

I have researched this item, and can only find one other example currently for sale for £575 (575 British Pounds = $720), making this listing reasonably market priced.

This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a rare Queen Elizabeth II Golden Wedding Anniversary commemorative of truly golden proportions.

Over the coming days, I shall be listing many other rare and interesting historical items from my personal collection which I have collected over the past 40+ years, so please click on the ‘See other items’ tab/link on the top right of the listing to view the many other items I have listed.

Please also note: Shipping charges for this item will be based on the buyer’s location, and the final weight and size of the packaging, which will typically be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with tracking, insurance and a signature required upon delivery, with the buyer being charged for shipping at the actual cost. Once the actual shipping cost is known, the estimated shipping charged by Ebay, will be adjusted accordingly up or down.
