These are from the ‘big break’ iconic collection where our beloved Ms. Kamali trotted out a handful of very special designs – her first cocoon jackets and sweatshirt cloth dresses, suits, coats and wrap dresses – most in a wondrous array of fabrics that, at the time, were quite unexpected. The dirdl skirt with straps and a huge waistband, and so on.

These are from then.

The short collared, boxy jacket shown here was also made as a longer, open jacket, a sewed shut dress and top. Poufy elastic waist pants that taper down to narrow ankles – cuffed if they fit that way. They have wonderful side seam pockets.

The fabric is a weighty rayon satin – like a drapery fabric. I thought it was black, but it is a dark brown.

It's in marvelous, unworn condition. No damage and smells clean.

It has absolutely NO stretch and one should allow 3” or more for ease of wearing – sitting, for example.

Original, completely intact shoulder pads included. They are meant to both raise and extend the shoulders so the velcroed pad should be placed so the wide, fat edge sticks out about an inch past the shoulder seam.

Jacket measures 23” across underarms in back,m (46" around) tapering to 20” across the hem. 24” from nape to hem. 19.5” across shoulder seams and sleeves are 24” long.

Pants:  The elastic waist measures, at rest, 29” around and goes nicely to 34”. 46” around the widest part of the hips, 13” front and 15” rear rise, 29.5” inseam that, de-cuffed would be 30.5” and a 7” kick.

I provide all this information so that you can get it and love it, so I hope you use it. Please ask any questions – that helps me write better listings.

The sewing form measures 38-30-39, FYI.

I am not a professional seller. I do this because I am weak and must have money for shopping. So please check your measurements and understand that I hope to avoid returns – tho I certainly will accept them, and, unless if I've really made a mistake in the factual portion of the description, I will ask you to share the shipping costs. I avoid future relations with people who send things back worn or because they didn’t read the description.

Please keep in mind that eBay keeps up to 20 percent of each purchase for letting me – and you – use this wondrous platform. And that the post office doesn’t ship free for me or eBay; eBay promotes promising it because people think they’re getting a deal with ‘free shipping.’

I also shop here on eBay and try to behave like so many of the great sellers and buyers I've had the privilege and good luck to deal with.
