Hawaiian Sea Turtle Honu Necklace

This is a handcarved Hawaiian Honu Sea Turtle necklace, made of carved Buffalo bone (bos Taurus). Both sides, front and back are carved.

The turtle is 2” inches nose to tail and 1-¼ inches wide approximately. It is lashed to an adjustable black silk cord.

About the Honu…

The Honu, or sea turtle, holds special meaning to Hawaiians. Ancient Hawaiians believed they were guardian spirits and could take the shape of any animal. Honu are a sacred symbol of life force, longevity and endurance.
