Cinnibar Imitation Ginger Jar Lamp Base

Thought to be an imitation cinnabar covered ginger jar, which has been set up for use as a lamp base.

Brass with lacquer and possibly cinnabar with intricate relief scenes, depicting scenes of figures, pavillions, pine trees, mountains and florals which cover the whole jar and removeable lid.

There are a few losses where the hole has been made in the lid for the lamp fittings (see photos) but overall this is a beautifully delicate piece, which would benefit from a good clean to highlight the relief work in even greater detail.
