Awesome WW2 US Helmet with name, Captain Insignia, and “Follow Me” stripe on rear.

The “Follow Me” stripe at the rear of the helmet was used on the battlefield to identify commanding officers in front of you - these first appeared in Normandy during the allied invasion and subsequent fighting in the European theatre.

I once read that the tradition started with Washington’s forces placing white cards in the rear of their caps for this purpose. Super cool!
