Intriguing vintage c1950s/1960s original expressionism portrait oil painting. Depicts a young African American woman seated at profile in front of what looks to be a subway car or bus window with an advertisement for soap overhead. Well done with thick paint and pleasing brushstrokes, nice use of color. Medium is oil on canvas board done in an Expressionist style. Signed ‘David’ in the bottom left. Provenance comes from a Long Island area estate. Quite worthy of further research. Framed in its vintage dark wood frame and ready to hang.


In Good overall condition. Exhibits wear and soiling consistent with age as well some gentle warping. Eye catching and appealing. Displays handsomely.
