Superb and rare First Day of Issue illustrated 1942 Post Card commemorating the 1st Anniversary of the Resumption of Polish Post on 15 XII 1941 (15th December 1941).

The illustration depicts the Polish National Flag overprinted with a Polish naval vessel and assorted mail. The Post Card has a horizontal pair of Polish Post 5 Groszy postage stamps which depict the destroyed American Embassy in Warsaw, September 1939, both of which are tied with a ‘Commercial Post Office Agency’ handstamp issued aboard a Polish vessel at sea in accordance with the terms of the 1939 Universal Postal Convention.

Also attached are a horizontal pair of Polish Field Post ‘Air Force Fighter Pilot’ Letter Seals tied with a ‘Polish Field Post Office No.1’ handstamp dated 17 XII 1942 (17th December 1942)

The Polish text at the bottom of the Postcard reads ‘Anniversary of the Reopening of the Polish Post Office;.

The Post Card is hand addressed to the recipient at Field Post ‘P73 Polish Forces’.

The Post Card is in excellent original condition with a blank reverse.

An ‘austin1100’ logo has been applied which does not appear on the buyer’s original.
