Superb matching high quality large size Limited Edition Paragon China Loving Cup and Plate commemorating the July 29^th, 1981 wedding of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales to Lady Dina Spencer, held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. The Cup’s strictly Limited Edition was only 750 pieces, with this being No. 375. The Plate’s strictly Limited Edition was a maximum of 3000 pieces with this being No. 665.

This expertly hand crafted Loving Cup is substantial being 5¼ inches high, with a 5½ inch diameter rim and a 5¾ inch diameter base, with the Plate being 10½ inches in diameter with both the Cup and Plate’s beautiful gilt and enamel hand painting expertly painted by Paragon’s master painter Reg Johnson, and both are signed by him.

The Cup’s decoration around the interior of the rim consists of a banner reading ‘ The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer ‘, with the Cup’s body on one side having a cartouche with the flag draped portraits of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana ‘, and on the other side, the Royal Coat of Arms of The Prince of Wales. On either side of the Cup midway between the Gilt Lion handles are gilt cartouches reading on one side ‘ Married by the Archbishop of Canterbury 1981 ‘ and on the other side ‘ Royal Wedding St. Paul’s Cathedral Wednesday July 29^th ‘. The gilt rimmed base has the notation ‘ To Celebrate the Marriage of The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer Wednesday July 29^th 1981 St. Paul’s Cathedral  Limited Edition of 750 This is No. 375 ‘.

The Cup comes complete with its original large 10 x 7½ x 6½ inch burgundy leatherette box with a gilt embossed lid, and with a burgundy satin lined interior and base. Also included, is the original numbered Certificate of Authenticity certifying the cup to be No. 375 of a Limited Edition of 750.

The matching Plate has a gold gilt rim and with an interior red circular banner inscribed ‘The Marriage of The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer 29^th July depicting the 1981’. The plate’s central decoration consisting of a pair of cartouches depicting the images of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer above which is the Queen’s Crown surmounting the 3 ostrich feather Royal Coat of Arms of The Prince of Wales, and below them, a banner inscribed ‘The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer’, all surrounded by the Standards of the British Isles and the roses, thistles and daffodils representing the national flora of Great Britain.

The Plate’s back stamp has the Royal Coat of Arms of Queen Elizabeth II and The Queen Mother with the inscription ‘To Celebrate the Marriage of The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer Wednesday July 29^th 1981 Paul’s Cathedral’

The Cup and Plate are in superb original undamaged condition with no repairs, chips or cracks, and having been stored correctly, their original colours remain vivid and bright.

The box, is also in complete undamaged original condition.
