Three vintage Chinese ceramic Mudman Fisherman figures – from the Shiwan region. One measures 5½” high and is 2½” at the base. This one is obviously much larger than the other and is nicely detailed. He is in good condition with no cracks or chips – including his beard and hair. The fishing rod still has its fish attached to it. The underside has he word China and the number 12 stamped into it. This one also has a silver sticker with yellow and gold print on it that shows it came from the Shiwan Artistic Ceramic Factory. The sticker looks as though it dates from around the 1960s or 1970s. The next figure (blue glaze) measures 4” high and 2” at the base. This one has lost his fishing rod. The glaze is not as good quality. The last figure – who looks to be reading a book measures just over 2½” high and is 3½” across. He has very poor-looking blotchy glaze – perhaps an error occurred during manufacture? None of the figures has any damage.
