Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb Tube Guitar Amplifier - many mods- read description

This amp started out as a stock Fender 68 Custom Princeton - has been upgraded with the following:

1. Cab & Baffle replaced with Mojotone Pine Cab (Original Princeton dimensions not Reissue dimensions (original Fender label from the MDF original cab stapled in new, lightweight, resonant, solid pine cab)

2. TAD Power transformer with 3A feed, allows 6L6 valves and 5U46B Rectifier valves to be used, like the original spec Blackface and Silverface (up to late 60's, early1970`s). So choice of 6V6 or 6L6.

3. Main circuit changed to the Blackface spec, including upgraded safety resistors to account for the new Power Transformer and increased amperage.

4. Gavitt wire Reverb Tank Cables, like originals.

5. Tremolo circuit upgrade to make it really big and slower and very swampy! (Think CCR!)(Matches perfectly with our Supro Comet trem speeds and depths)

6. Red Jewel power-on indicator like originals

7. Jensen C10R Special Design speaker, an upgrade from the stock Celestion Ten 30

8. Changed to run at true 240V UK voltage.

So basically this has become a hybrid AA1164 or AB1270/PRRI spec circuit, whereby you can use either 6V6 or 6L6 power tubes with either a 5U4GB or a 5AR4/GZ34 tube rectifier, or any combination of the previously stated tubes.

Original VIB/TREM footswitch and heavy duty original Fender cover

For those who are struggling to appreciate the value of an upgraded cab, refer to the following:

68 CPR - MDF cab and baffle, prone to rattles
65 PRRI - Birch ply cab and baffle, though I have seen some with MDF baffles also
64 Handwired Custom Princeton Reverb - Solid pine, lovely resonance like the originals

Never gigged, home studio use only. Original Tubes and speaker were removed from purchase and the amp was run with NOS Tubes and Speaker, hence the speaker (upgraded from the original Ten 30), is as new and will need a wee break in! Sounds great though!

Supplied with Fender Groove Tubes with 3 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AT7, 2 x 6V6 & 1 x 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier tube
