A nice lightly used early/mid 1960’s BX
purchased OG utility shirt with original heavy white embroidered insignia on
blue backing. The shirt bears a tag for the “B.V.D” brand – one of a couple
authorised to be sold in Base Exchanges. It is manufactured in heavy cotton and
follows the early pattern with its distinctive pocket shape & “form fitted”
tailoring. The sleeves have been shortened – a very popular Air Force
modification, particularly amongst those deployed to SE Asia.
Condition wise, it looks barely used and I
could find no stains or flaws.
It measures 22” from armpit to armpit &
19 1/2” across the back of the shoulders. If you’re intending to wear it,
please compare these sizes with a shirt in your possession to ascertain wither
it will fit you (no returns if it doesn’t).
