Calyx media player retailed for $999 when debuted. Since the unit is still new the battery is in great condition. I estimated about 4 hours of battery life per charge. You can plug the unit into the charger and run off wall power. Media player has never been disassembled. Firmware has not been touched. You can check online at Fidelizer-Audio . com and search Calyx M for firmware update options. The player does not have sleep or standby mode. The screen will turn off after 30 seconds of no touch input but the media player amp is still on. After use you must hold power button down for 3 seconds for menu to pop up asking to shut down device. Failure to do this will result in dead battery next time you go to use it. I recommend watching a YouTube video of the UI user Interface. Its very different and to unlock the screen you have to swipe up only.
