Gibson NEW ES-335 Figured Sixties Cherry sn227830132 3.47kg

Description

ES-335Figured uses figured maple

The original semi-acoustic guitar, the ES-335, was released by Gibson in 1958 and is a timeless masterpiece that is still in continuous production.

Prior to the ES-335, Gibson released thin-body full acoustics such as the Byrdland ES-350T and ES-225T in 1955.
Compared to previous full-length acos with deep bodies, by making the body thinner, playability was greatly improved, and it became accepted by many players.
The ES-335 was completed by equipping a thin body full acoustic with a solid maple center block.
During this period, solid electric guitars such as Gibson's Les Paul and Fender's Telecaster and Stratocaster were in circulation, but the ES-335TD has features that are intermediate between full acoustic guitars and solid ones, and has a bold double cutaway in terms of performance. By incorporating this, playability in high positions has been improved, and in terms of sound, it has a modern impression that cannot be found in full-acoustic instruments, and has established itself as an instrument that can flexibly respond to diversifying music genres.

By adopting a center block, which is the key to semi-acoustic acoustics, it is more resistant to feedback, which was a drawback of full acoustics, and is compatible with the increasingly loud stage environments that followed, making it suitable not only for jazz and blues but also for rock scenes. It became a famous instrument that left behind many famous performances.

The pickup, which is the key to the sound, was developed at the Memphis factory and received high praise, but when the factory was moved to Nashville, the name was changed to Calibrated T-Type.
This is a pickup that reproduces the specifications of the final stickered numbered model commonly known as T-Top, which was used from the late 60's to the 70's.
The two urethane-coated coils are evenly wound, and the magnet uses Alnico 5, giving it a brighter and hotter sound character than the early PAF.

The tailpiece uses "AluminumStopbar". By using lightweight aluminum material, the vibration energy of the strings is transmitted straight to the body.

In addition, the pegs are equipped with Vintage Deluxew Keystone Buttons instead of Grover from the Memphis Factory era, and by using resin type knob buttons, it is also nice to have a more traditional and vintage feel.

The highly versatile Gibson ES tone has been loved by players for over 60 years.
