Designated Graphics Cards

This drive is set up up to work on your computer’s native graphics card. If your computer has a designated graphics card, an Nvidia Graphics Card in particular, there are a couple of extra steps that you will need to take in order to get this drive to function properly. Please refer to the Batocera Nation Youtube channel and his videos about designated graphics cards for an easy to follow, step by step video tutorial on your configure this drive to work with you designated graphics card,.

DRIVE CONFIGURATION :

This game drive contains two partitions. The first, labeled BATOCERA, contains the operating system and is less than 10 GB (around 7 GB) in size. The second partition, labeled SHARE or USERDATA, contains game files and other essential data necessarily to operate the drive, and may very in size depending on the size of the drive itself and the number of files stored within.

DUEL BOOT :

While this drive may be dual booted by someone with the knowledge to do so, this drive is designed to work in a single boot environment. If you are unable to boot drive in a dual boot configuration, that does not mean that the drive is flawed or damaged. Rather, test drive in a single boot environment before contacting seller. We will not accept returns from customers who fail to test drive completely for proper functionality.

DISABLE UEFI SECURE BOOT :

If attempting to boot drive on a newer 64 Bit computer that utilizes UEFI, you may need to disable secure boot before drive will boot on your computer. For further details on this process, please refer to Google and perform a search on how to do so on your computer.

EXTERNAL BOOT :

500 GB 2.5” THIN HARD DRIVE : If you purchased either the 500 GB - 2.5” THIN hard drive, these drives may be booted externally using a standard external casing that both connects and is powered via a USB port. For maximum performance, a USB 3.0 connection is ideal.
