I have here for sale a Rare complete 2 vols set of  PEARSON MAGAZINE VOLUMES III & IV 1897  - in which is the FIRST TRUE EDITION  of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS by H.G. Wells, before it was published in book form it was published in serial form in the Pearson Magazine. With illustrations by Warwick Goble.

Also you will find Captains Courageous by Rudyard Kipling again published in serial form and I believe the first UK Edition, and Tales of the High Seas by Conan Doyle, ( best known for Sherlock Holme stories). The last story in Conan Doyle’s Tales of the High Seas series is an interesting standalone tale, an intriguing seagoing mystery set in Doyle’s own time instead of the age of piracy, again a first true edition.

Alongside these works of fiction there is an eclectic selection of narrative: The Skeleton Factory, Music from the Far East, Show Dogs, Diamond Digging at De Beers. A fascinating volume as well as a very collectable one!

Attractively bound in original linen boards. With floral embossed decoration ( gilt and colour), plus title lettering on the front board and the spine. Light shelf wear is evident and a little age soiling to the boards. Front board is beginning to pull. The pages are generally clean and bright. This book is in very good condition, it is tightly bound with no loose or missing pages 712pp. 26cm x 18cm.

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped.
To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)

My main posting days are Monday and Thursday ie. If you place an order and payment is received after Thursday 12.00 noon your order will be posted out on Monday.
