This antique ebony cylindrical box is a stunning Asian artifact that would make a great addition to any Chinoiserie collection! Crafted from solid ebony wood, it exudes elegance and sophistication with its simple yet elegant concentric circles design. The rigid circles design can be found at the top rim, the bottom, and in the center top of the lid. The exact age of the box is unknown, but it is sure to be a unique and valuable piece for any antique collector!! Bought it along with an amazing LOT of Chinese & Japanese art objects reaching back to early dynasties at a local high end auction house.

The solid black color of the ebony box + highly polished shine adds to its overall appeal, and it is perfect for storing small items such as brushes - which the sticker on the bottom says - but it makes more sense that it might have held ink instead, thus the tight perfect fitting lid? A great decor item nonetheless. Was once on a scholar’s desk no doubt.
