PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Here is a fine one key flute by important maker G. Astor in boxwood. Body has a significant crack and will need work to be playable. We believe this flute to be in the key of Bb, but it is difficult to ascertain for certain. Measurement from the center of the embouchure hole to the first tonehole is 8.5 inches (21.5 cm).

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.

As this instrument is historically interesting we have chosen to not do restoration work on it and leave that to the eventual owner.
