This is a model that has been faithfully reproduced using the recipe from Gibson Custom Shop!
The Firebird was invented in 1963 by car designer Ray Dietrich, a friend of Ted McCarty.
The large reverse body with beautiful lines befitting a Phoenix looks just like an American car, and you can see that it is still very popular today.
Firebird I specifications etc.
From the late 50's to the early 60's, Fender made a breakthrough with its innovative image and design.
Gibson's business performance, which continued to maintain its classic style, was sluggish.
The Firebird model was created in 1963 to overcome this situation.

The designer was legendary car designer Ray Dietrich, a friend of Ted McCarty.
With an elegant offset reverse body that looks like a bird spreading its wings, and a head shape reminiscent of a beak, the guitar was named the Firebird. It couldn't have been more appropriate for a new model that was making a comeback for Gibson.

Firebird has detailed specifications other than the common feature of neck-through structure.
It is divided into four variations ( , , , ).
This individual was made by Epiphone and was reproduced as much as possible. This is a Firebird I type with 1 pickup specification, banjo peg, and wraparound bar bridge.

The specifications include an offset body shape, a mahogany body, and a neck-through structure made of mahogany walnut.
Unique head shape and banjo style pegs.
The pickup, which is the key to the sound, is equipped with a Gibson mini humbucker that has a very bright tone.
playability, sound, etc.
When you think of Firebird enthusiasts, you'll think of unique blues-roots guitarists such as Johnny Winter, Allen Collins of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Clarence Gatemouth Brown.
When I got this instrument in my hands, I felt like I understood why they chose the Firebird, with its bright high range and easy playability in high positions. The high playability derived from the neck-through design is very attractive. You can play with a free feeling from high position to low position.

The sound is sticky, but the middle is exciting.
It's a mini humbucker, so of course it goes great with slide play!
It's not just about slides! Crunch to light overdrive sounds are perfect! The thick, sticky, and powerful drive sound is unique to the Firebird.
