This brilliant solo has great wit and flair. It is also an excellent technical study, offering ample opportunity to develop finger agility with its mostly staccato passages and parallel chords in root position and first inversion, double thirds, and broken chord accompaniments. Concise rhythms and crisp articulation characterize this work, expertly crafted to bring out the best in any student. In ABA form, the middle section's style is fanciful, while the outer parts are characterized by a happy, dancing mood. Great festival or competition choice for the advancing student.
