Superb example of a rare 1939 W. Britains set No.1730 ‘Royal Regiment of Artillery (Gunners) – Carrying Shells’.

This excellent 7 piece set was first produced in 1939 with the Gunners still wearing puttees rather than later battledress uniforms.

The set consists of 3 standing Gunners carrying shells, and 4 kneeling Gunners carrying shells. The figures’ paintwork is in pristine mint undamaged condition, having never been removed from the box, as is the interior card. The early ‘Fred Whisstock’ label box is also in excellent condition with only a minor tear at one end. The figures in this vintage 1939 set No.1730 would be extremely difficult, if not impossible to improve upon.

This W. Britains set No. 1730 is part of a complete set of W. Britains ‘Anti-Aircraft Units of the British Army’ models I have listed.
