Blade is made from the best Solingen German high carbon steel. Herder is famous for their top quality carbon steel that sharpens easily and keeps a sharp edge.

Name brand is deeply and clearly stamped in the middle of the blade, along with SPADE trademark.

Large blade is made extra wide to provide many years of service. Blade opens with half stop and is tight and firm when open. Spring has strong tension but is not too stiff to open easily.

Steel liners with steel bolsters. 

Handle scales made from natural wood with hard dense grain. End of handle is drilled to attach shackle or lanyard.

Closed length 4 1/4"  - 107mm

Note that the blade is high carbon steel. It is not stainless steel and can rust without proper care.

Knife is in excellent condition for the age. There are light carbon spots and fine scuff marks on the blade from cleaning but no pitting or damage.
