Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very unique 1950's era Atlas MS-25 model microphone floor stand called the "Studio Deluxe" with an extra wide and heavy rectangular cast iron base and durable 2 piece retractable chrome stem Made in the United States. The Studio Deluxe was the higher end model offered by Atlas at that time and replaced the earlier MS-24 model.

As you can see this early 1st generation MS-25 comes with the period Atlas BB-1 "Baby Boom Arm" giving the user extra height and reach. This will be an ideal set up for just about any application.

This MS-25 model stand is still being made today though it has gone through a few changes over the past 70 years and the new MS-25 are being made in China.

Pic # 2 shows this very model from an old 1950's Atlas data sheet I have along with a handful of other Atlas floor stands from that period. You could use the MS-25 alone or add the boom arm depending on your needs. If you are a musician or broadcaster and need a great stand where you are sitting or standing this MS-25 will do it all. The boom arm can be lowered or rotated in any direction.

Pic # 3 shows Johnny Cash using this very model stand at his Folsom State Prison live performance in 1968.

The MS-25 itself is in very good overall condition. The top and lower chrome risers show typical lite wear and the clutch mechanism works perfectly allowing you to get any height needed on this stand. The original Atlas sticker is still present. It's the Brooklyn, NY model and it's in decent shape despite the wear. Again, you can use the stand with or without the boom arm.

The chrome base plate cover shows heavier scratches and one subtle dent but it's free of any pitting. The cast iron base itself has original grey paint and it's pretty good overall with just a few spots of discolorations and a few small nicks. The base still has 3 new felt pads as the original were all but gone. These are very rugged and well applied. they will do an excellent job of keeping this very heavy floor stand from scratching any floor it sits on. Typical lite rust stains on the bottom of the base.

The Atlas BB-1 (boom arm) is also in good condition. The chrome pole shows several scratches but it's free of pitting or dents. The cast iron counterweight shows a minimum of wear on the original grey paint and the joint mechanism / swivel shows a bit more wear but is 100% complete and works perfectly. The BB-1 is appx 31 inches long which can be used to point your mic in any direction needed.

This is a great combo that will do you justice.

Overall this stand is an easy 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Some might rate it better. If you demand rarity and something eccentric for the studio...look no further.

Due to massive postal rate increases I cannot send this stand for any less than stated. I do combine shipping which will save a lot of money if you plane on buying multiple items. Thank you.
