Offered for your consideration is a vintage HINKLE PILLS N.F. laxative glass bottle, distributed by Sears Roebuck and Co. c.1940. Laxatives were very popular in the early 20th century since it was commonly believed that most illnesses originated in the intestinal tract. As such, many people took laxatives regularly even when not constipated, and the Hinkle formula consisting primarily of belladonna leaf extract and cascara was highly effective.

Please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this interesting HINKLE PILLS bottle should join your collection.

This HINKLE PILLS bottle is in clean, very good condition. It measures 4⅛” tall by 2¼” wide by 1⅜” thick. There are no cracks or chips to the thick glass and the white-enameled steel lid has a bit of finish wear as pictured. Plus, the paper label is also well-preserved with minimal attrition from the years. Overall, it presents very nicely.

The days of simple consumer goods’ receptacles being made so nicely, with the company’s full knowledge that most will be simply discarded when empty, are long gone. Add it to your medical collectibles display!

So, as pictured and described, this antique HINKLE PILLS N.F. bottle from Sears is offered at a competitive price.
