This car was purchased 7 months ago by my father from a dealer for £4000. He always liked them because of the fantastic ride and comfort. He used it to help relocate to Portugal. Once there the plan was to have it fully serviced and then given to me. Which he did. I drove it back from Portugal which took us 8 hours and 15 mins to get to the ferry in Spain. It ran flawlessly and by the time I got home in england it was doing 49.5 mpg.
Before id gone out there to collect the car. I'd had it booked in to superchips to have it remapped for fuel efficiency reasons. As it turned out, I didn't need to do this because the fuel consumption was already great but as i had already had it booked in i had to go through with it otherwise was gonna be charged ninety pounds for a late cancellation.
Long story short, when they came to do the remap it failed half way through and bricked the ecu. This wasn't the car's fault, citreons have a battery saving device which kicks in 30 mins after turning off the engine. This happened as he was uploading the map, hence the damage to the ecu. Apparently they hadnt done a C5 before.... Superchips tried and failed to sort it and now I'm in a position where I need a car and my driveway back.
I Hope somebody will be able to fix her as its a fantastic driving car with a amazing spec. And also, no lie, the most comfortable car I've ever done a long journey in.
The car has covered 125000 miles and as i said had just been fully serviced included brake and gearbox fluids. All the electrics work from the automatic tailgate to the massaging chair.
The body work is in great condition with some age related marks, and the suspension goes up and down as it should. MOT til the 15th of August.
This is the 163ps version with a fully working panoramic roof.
