See main points at the bottom of the description.

I have owned this Mazda MX5 for nearly 5 years.  I own 3 MX5's & this one drives the best. It has been reliable & enjoyable. Originally splash green ( turquoise ) metallic; I took it off the road in 2022 to develop my own "retro style "  front, rear & boot lid without altering the bonnet & wings. Once fabrication was complete, a respected fibreglass kit car panel manufacturer, Tribute Automotive ,created moulds & now supply good quality, substantial panels to me.  This was the first  "retro car style " MX5 I completed. It is categorised as a "modified" car for insurance purposes. As the modification is largely cosmetic, no test or engineering inspection was required.

I decided to paint the Mazda red but only with spray cans to achieve a slightly " distressed " look as if it might have just completed an historic rally like the Mille Miglia. So the paintwork is not a good finish & the turquoise colour remains under the bonnet & in some areas of the door shuts. The interior is standard & in good condition  ( one very small fag burn ). The soft top is very good but it could do with a clean. The retro conversion includes, 7 inch headlights, Mk1 mini rear lights, a Morris Minor grill, chrome door mirrors & dummy wheel centre " spinners". The rest of the lighting is classic Lucas style.
My marketing of the retro style kit is very low key  -  only six kits sold so far. It is always going to be quite a rare MX5 conversion.

The current mileage is 81,856 with some service history & MOT's going back to 25,000 miles in 2009.  There are invoices for welding to inner & outer sills over the years & the front chassis legs have had repair sections welded in. Both front upper suspension arms were replaced for the MOT last year. The last recorded oil & filter change was at 76,000 miles. The car did have an alarm but that has been removed. Central locking works on the key  (  I have two keys ). There is no remote.  One photo shows rust in the offside rear wheel arch.

I have set a reserve price & a "buy it now" price.  If you decide to buy , or you are the winning bidder, please contact me to arrange a £200 deposit.  I will not accept payment by PAYPAL & the QR code method on mobiles is difficult to work as we have very poor signal here.  Payment by cash or bank transfer upon collection. We are near Farnham , Surrey.
