A very nice Victorian Relief Molded Majolica Tile depicting child reading on log
Circa 1880s.
Note that the details are very high relief. There is glaze wear/abrasions/chipping to the many of the highpoints: the girl's nose, hat, collar, dress, wheelbarrow, axe handle, perimeter trim and corners. These are present in varying degrees. Many of these locations have been touched-up and some touch-ups also show wear. A hangar has been glued to the reverse for wall display. All mentioned details are as shown.
Measures: 6" inches square.
Base thickness: 5/8" inches plus the image reliefs.
