RARE ANTIQUE NORTHWOOD
GREEN GLASS DIAMOND SPEARPOINT TOOTHPICK HOLDER EAPG
A
beautiful piece of early American made pattern glass (EAPG) in the form of a lovely
little toothpick holder. It is a quality
piece of pressed glass and was made by the Northwood Glass Company, formerly of
Wheeling West Virginia, while they were part of the National Glass combine
(Factory # 13). It is made in a dark
emerald green colored glass and the pattern is called “Diamond Spearhead.” What makes this rare is the fact that this one
is not opalescent. In the book mentioned
below, the authors write “All the following in opalescent: clear, blue, canary,
dark blue & green: and do not mention this piece being made in any
non-opalescent colors. This is the only colored
one I have ever seen in this pattern that was made in non-opalescent
glass. The piece in my photos is the actual item you
will receive. Please be sure to read the
“Age and
Condition”
& “Approximate Dimensions” paragraphs below.

If
you are not familiar with the NTHCS (National Toothpick Holder Collectors’
Society) it is a great organization and you can learn more about toothpick
holders and collecting them at their website.
I
do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of
my ability. Some of my photos may be
somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. However, do not hesitate to contact me with
any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures. I will get back to you as soon as I am
able. I want your transaction with me to
be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.

Age and Condition
This
piece dates to circa 1902.
It
is in excellent mint original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my
description of this item. There are no
chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines, or repairs to the glass – see my
photos. I see no obvious evidence of
wear or use. Really in amazing condition
for a 100+ year old piece of glass. Please
keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so
anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really
is.
Please
note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a
mark on the piece. It will be either
just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the
right side of the photo.
Approximate Dimensions
About
2” (5.1 cm) across at the top rim and sits about 2.375” (6 cm) off the table.
Approximate Weight

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS

costs incurred in the shipment of packages internationally.
International

DO NOT ask us to
show a lesser value on the Customs Forms than the item sold for, or to ship the
item purchased item as a gift. Ebay
requires us to report any buyer to them who requests this.
