For auction is a wonderful adjustable antique lamp base made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This lamp base is part of the Tiffany Studios desk set known as "Venetian". The lamp base measures 20 1/4" tall and the foot has a diameter of 4 7/8".  You can adjust this lamp to be 22 3/4" by turning the knob and lifting the rod higher and locking it by turning it the opposite way.

The lamp displays a round foot with a stem that has a 4 sided knuckle at the bottom and rises up to a 2 light pull chain cluster. The pull chains are the satellite ones with a raised rib around the center of the pull. There is an adjustable riser that is mounted to the cluster on the top. It is finished off with a baluster shaped finial.

The pattern in the base is simply outstanding and quite ornate. The bottom exterior edge of the base shows a band of Ermines that surround it . It is further decorated with a fancy pattern that was used in the 16th Century by Venetian craftsman with leather. It also gives the same effect as East Indian metalwork. This pattern is on the top of the round foot, the 4 sided knuckle and the stem. The pattern only rises up about 3/4 of the way.

This lamp base is considered to be in excellent shape. The crispness of the design and the patina doesn't get any better than this. The base is fully operational and is offered in the same condition as it was found. The lamp base is signed on the underside plate with "Tiffany Studios New York" impressed mark along with the pattern number "640" for the base.

This is a very rare base to come up for auction. I can only document 2 in the past 25 years of internet sales. One similar to this one had a Duffner cap and sold at Robert Hatch Auction for $2750 hammer plus a 20% buyers premium for a total of $3300 before taxes and shipping back in March of this year. I feel this base is a much crisper example. The other was a beat up version for $860 with distressed patina and damage to the base in 2022. I believe this table lamp to have been made just after Tiffany retired based on the cluster that was used. I would say this table lamp was made circa 1918-1925.

You can use a 10-12" art glass or leaded glass shade on this base. We are professional shippers. This item will be double boxed using Styrofoam sheets to form a casket around the base.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for.

They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.

If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
