This vintage 1800's wooden oak travel writing box is a must-have for collectors and history enthusiasts. Made of sturdy oak wood, this box was designed for travellers to have a compact yet functional workspace. The box includes compartments for inkwells and quills, and a two drawers for storing documents or valuables.  It one point, long ago, the lock has been replaced rather badly and while key is available and working, the lock doesn't catch and will need to be adjusted.  It is a large piece measuring roughly 16 x 10 x 6 inches deep. It has brass supports all around with two stunning blacksmith forged handles.  It has an engraved plaque on the top which reads "G.M. WATERS ". This is a seriously nice thing designed to survive long journeys by coach or sailing ship.


The box's intricate design and craftsmanship are a testament to the quality of 19th-century woodworking. The oak wood has developed a rich patina over time, giving it a unique character and charm.
