"The deck is a fully illustrated 80 card RWS style Tarot, featuring original collage art created by combining visual elements from various fine art and illustration sources for each card. These elements have been curated from sources ranging from antiquity to the early days of the 20th century. Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights is sold as a boxed set. Each set includes the luscious 78 card Tarot deck plus the two 'extra' cards and the 200 page companion book. They are packaged together in a custom designed two-part box that features the Empress card art on the lid. The card dimensions are a generous 3.5 x 5.5 inches, so readers can savor the cards’ full symbolism and intricately detailed images. The card back design is intriguingly asymmetrical. The book is a 6 x 9 inch US trade paperback style, extensively illustrated and printed in full color throughout. In Boadicea’s Tarot, the suits are re-named Combustion, Tentacles, Aether, and Fungi. The borders of the cards evoke the damask fabric used as wallcovering in the grand art galleries of Europe and America, with fabulous works of art displayed against those elegant silk-covered walls. Each card conveys messages visually anchored in the corresponding card in the Rider Waite Smith deck, the most beloved deck in Tarot history. Yet, the scenes in Boadicea’s Tarot venture far beyond the established vignettes of the RWS. The artwork eloquently conveys the familiar Tarot meanings without recreating the scenes of the RWS. The familiar Tarot scenes are entirely reimagined, with a wild assortment of diverse characters taking the traditional RWS Tarot roles. There are reading points from the RWS in each card, making the cards instantly recognizable. Yet the card art is intriguingly different, fresh, and quirky. Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights is passionately idiosyncratic, while remaining entirely faithful to traditional RWS card meanings via clear visual symbolism."
