The Welsh Dragon known in Welsh as Y Ddraig Goch
(the Red Dragon) appears on the national flag.
It is said that Celtic King Arthur had a dream about a dragon
(being Wales) which slayed a white dragon (the Anglo-Saxons).
The Red Dragon design was adopted by Prince Llywelyn of Gwynedd
in the 7th century & taken into battle by Welsh hero Prince Uwain Glyndwr
against conflicts with the English.
In the 15th century at the Battle of Bosworth Welsh born King Henry VII
unfurled the Red Dragon which he used as his own emblem.
The Red Dragon represents the defiant Welsh which have long survived
external threat and hail the motto:
The Red Dragon will show the way!
This Intricate Highly Detailed Pewter piece is handcrafted in Australia from
Australian Made Genuine High Quality Pewter.
It is Nickel, Lead & Allergen Free.
Comes with a brooch hook catch.
