# The iconic Shamrock has always been considered a Good Luck symbol
by the Irish and St. Patrick used it to explain the Trinity.
# In Ireland, it is a popular legend that the Celtic Cross
was introduced by Saint Patrick or possibly Saint Declan
during his time converting the pagan Irish.
It has often been claimed that St. Patrick combined the symbol
of Christianity with the sun cross, to give pagan followers
an idea of the importance of the cross by linking it with the
idea of the life-giving properties of the sun.
# In ancient times, gifts adorned with Celtic Endless knots
would be given with best wishes of longevity, or luck with new endeavours.
Kilt Origins
This is open to debate but it is generally believed the Kilt is a
modern version of the Celtic Plaid worn by the Scottish, Irish,
Welsh and European Gaelic peoples stretching back to pre Medieval times.
It was a very long piece of fabric usually wool wrapped around the waist,
across the body and over the shoulder. The styles changed around the
end of the Medieval period. The most common colours were red, green,
saffron, blue, black & white. The modern pleated shorter version is more
associated with the Scottish and called a Tartan Kilt.
Kilt pins are used to weight down the open side of one layer, not to secure
through all as this can damage a kilt.
