SIZING

We generally recommend that for average sized children that you get a jacket one size larger than the age of the child.  An average three year old should get a size 4 Toddler. This will allow some room for growth, as well allows a child to wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath if desired.  If the child is smaller or larger than average, please size accordingly.

Freight Charges

Unless otherwise specified by us, all United States and Canada orders are shipped UPS Ground, FedEx Ground or FedEx SmartPost.  Freight charges are automatically applied to each order, and are based on the total number of jackets being shipped to one address.  Rates for deliveries in the continental United States are set according to the following chart.  (California residents will also be charged 9.5% sales tax.)  For international orders, please see the section below.

Next Day Air, Second Day Air, and Three Day Select orders’ processing will be confirmed via email.  Most orders received before 10:00 AM PST Monday through Friday will be shipped the dame day, and orders received after 10:00 AM will be shipped the following business day.  Orders received during the weekend will be shipped on Monday.

 

UPS Ground/FedEx SmartPost:

Orders will be shipped to arrive within 2-8 business days.

 

Three Day Select:

Orders will arrive three business days after they are shipped.

 

Second Day Air:

Second Day Air orders will arrive two business days after they are shipped.

 

Next Day Air Saver:

Next Day Air orders will arrive one business day after they are shipped.

 

Please note:  On Next Day Air Saver, Second Day Air, and Three Day Select backordered items will be sent UPS Ground or FedEx SmartPost (not the originally selected method) once the item is back in inventory.

 

ORDERS SHIPPED TO ALASKA, HAWAII, AND PUERTO RICO ARE SHIPPED BY USPS OR FEDEX SMARTPOST.  STANDARD SHIPPING TO THESE LOCATIONS COSTS $23.95, AND THE $14.00 DIFFERENCE WILL BE REQUESTED FOR PAYMENT PRIOR TO SHIPMENT.

 

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS      

Please read the following terms carefully before placing your order.

 

International orders are handled on an order-by-order basis.  Jackets will be charged initially without shipping, and freight costs will be determined by us based on your exact location.  An invoice will be electronically forwarded requesting payment for the proper amount of shipping, and this must be paid prior to your merchandise being sent.

 

Canada:

Shipping to Canada is via UPS Standard (Ground service), DHL or FedEx SmartPost.  Worldwide Expedited (estimated at 2 business days) and Worldwide Express Saver (estimated at 1 business day) are also available.  Jackets will be charged initially without shipping, and freight costs will be determined by us based on your exact location.  An invoice will be electronically forwarded requesting payment for the proper amount of shipping, and this must be paid prior to your merchandise being sent.

 

All Other Countries:

International orders to any other country is done via the United States Postal Services’ Global Express and usually take 6 – 10 business days.  Jackets will be charged initially without shipping, and freight costs will be determined by us based on your exact location.  An invoice will be electronically forwarded requesting payment for the proper amount of shipping, and this must be paid prior to your merchandise being sent.

 

Customs and Duties:

You, the customer, are responsible for all customs, duties, and taxes.  For information on duties, please contact your local customs office.

 

Please note that should you refuse your shipment by not paying the charges, we will not issue credit for your order, nor will we pay to have the package returned to us.  The customs office will destroy the merchandise.  Please check with your local office before making a purchase.

 

 

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

We want your shopping experience to be a pleasurable one.  As a result, we are happy to accept exchanges within 30 days from receipt of purchase, excluding sale items. Items must be in new, unused condition, in the original packaging and with the hang tag still attached.  

 

Shipping fees are non-refundable.  If a free shipping offer was used, shipping charges will be deducted from your refund.  Credits will be applied back to the purchaser’s credit card within 14 days of the date the order was received.  Returns and exchanges will not be accepted without a RMA number.  Please contact us for the RMA number.  Exchanges and returns should be insured and sent to the following address:

Remember to include a note stating the desired new size or style for exchanges.  Please note that if the item was a gift, we will be unable to issue a refund to anyone other than the person who originally placed the order.  

 



For exchanges, we will send the larger or smaller size back to you with no shipping costs if you have a continental U.S. address.  You will be responsible for paying for the shipping charges to send the original jacket back to us to exchange.  These costs are your responsibility unless the item is damaged or defective.



 

 

 

 

Canceling An Order

We will be happy to cancel any items off of your order that have not already shipped.  Please email us with the details.  If your order has already been processed, we may not be able to cancel the item. 

 

 

FAQ

1.   Do you offer gift certificates and gift wrapping?  Unfortunately, we do not offer either one at this time.

2.   What payment methods do you accept?  We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal.  All prices are in U.S. dollars, and payment must be made in U.S. dollars.

3.   Will I be charged sales tax?  Sales tax is based on the shipping address, not billing address.  Sales tax will be only be charged for shipping to addresses within California.  The current rate is 9.5 %.

4.   What is your privacy policy?  All of your personal information that is submitted to J Is For Jacket is kept confidential.  We do not share, sell, or distribute your personal information except as required by law.  Sales transactions are processed through PayPal which hosts the ordering system and order data.  PayPal stores and processes your personal information on their computers in the U.S., and protects it by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable U.S. federal and state regulations.  PayPal uses computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, enforce physical access controls to their buildings and files, and authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.  J is for Jacket will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of sales purchases or for mailing list purposes. We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned. J is for Jacket will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. We will make readily available to customers information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information. 5.   How can I track my order?  An email will be sent to you once your order is received, confirming your order and provides the estimated ship date.  Another is sent when it is shipped and provides the tracking number.  

6.   What if you are out of the size I ordered?  An email will be sent to you once your order has been received alerting you that we are temporarily out of stock.  You will have the option to have your item backordered for shipment as soon as the item is back in inventory, or you may either select another size or style, or cancel your order.  Your credit card or PayPal account will be credited the charged amount.  You will be notified to reorder the item again when the item is in stock, your credit card or PayPal account will be charged at that time, and the item will be shipped.

7.   What happens if there is an error on the web site?  In the event of an error such as, but not limited to incorrect pricing, product description, or terms of a special offer, J Is For Jacket reserves the right to correct the error regardless of the cause.  This includes, but is not limited to, typographical mistakes, errors of omission, technical problems caused by equipment failure, or errors caused by software malfunction.

ABOUT US

J Is For Jacket is a company which was started by two moms, Julie and Jamie.  Each of us has a toddler which occupies lots of our time.  However, we both wanted to stay in the working world, and be able to utilize our previous business backgrounds.  Being HUGE fans of Up and Away’s replica children’s jackets, we couldn’t think of a better product to invest our time and effort with to begin selling on-line.  Considering that almost every day we hear from parents, and grandparents alike that they love Up and Away’s jackets, and that their kids practically live in them, we think we made a great choice.  We hope you agree.  Other brands may be added in the future.
