Program your remote easily over the web
Connect your Harmony remote to your computer with the supplied USB cable to get
started. Go to the Harmony Remote website and answer some simple questions about
the components you have and how they're set up. When you're done, the site
automatically programs your remote accordingly. Plus, it remembers information
about your setup, making it quick and easy to reprogram the remote if you add
components down the road.
Intuitive touchscreen controls
The easy-to-read touchscreen display features "Activity" buttons for one-touch
control of your system. For example, to play a DVD, just press "Watch a DVD."
The remote instantly evaluates your system, turns on or off the appropriate
components, selects the proper settings, and starts the DVD player. The remote's
screen then changes to show the controls you'll need for watching a DVD — like
play, pause, skip, and volume.
Optional RF control
The Harmony 1000 can also send radio frequency (RF) commands in addition to
regular IR (infrared) signals. This lets you control audio/video equipment
that's connected to a Harmony RF Wireless Extender (available separately)
whether your gear's installed in a closet, in a cabinet, or even another room.
