The Red Telephone Money box is made from ceramic and has been hand painted and finished with a high gloss glaze. On the underneath of the money bank is an access hole that is sealed with a soft plastic bung.
The red telephone box was the result of a 1924 design for the boroughs of Metropolitan London.
