Rosehip Seed Oil does not smell of roses!
Good quality oil should have a natural slightly earthy smell which dissipates when applied. The oil is extracted from the rosehip seeds (not the petals) of the plant so will not smell of roses or have a floral scent as is sometimes incorrectly assumed. This smell is a good sign that the oil has been minimally processed (if you buy a Rosehip Seed Oil that has no smell at all, it will have been deodorised which affects its potency). If you would like a floral fragrance to your Rosehip Seed Oil we recommend our Neroli 5% blended in Rosehip Seed Oil (see our other listings).

Storage and care of your oil

All our oils are supplied in sturdy dark amber glass bottles which preserve and keep them in the best possible condition (essential oils should never be stored in plastic bottles as the quality of the oil can be negatively affected through interaction with the plastic and in some instances even burn through it!). The oil should be stored in a cool dark place and the bottle kept sealed at all times. If left in direct sunlight, subjected to significant changes in temperature or exposed to the open air they will quickly deteriorate.
