REVOX BLACK COUNTER BELT.

Nagravox now stocks a range of belts and globes for all Revox tape machines.

The black counter belt is used on the A77, B77 and PR99 and drives the counter idler wheel  from the brake drum.

The black counter belt is an item that needs replacing at least every 5 years.  It gets gooey and is commonly broken or badlt stretched on most old machines. We offer a freshly manufactured new replacement belt.  Please note these are not NOS - they are brand new fresh manufactured in Europe.   2nd hand or NOS belts are seriously a waste of time and money.

SUGGESTION:  replace both the toothed short white belt and long black belt at the same time.   We also have belts for the A700 and F36 / G36.  (Please note that some intermediate A77 and B77 have direct drive counters and do not take a short white belt. They are easily recognisable - well "heareable" because they are pretty noisy).

SUGGESTIONS:

1. My dear father used to say, "there is no such thing as a mouse - there are only mice". If one belt is broken, the other belt will be worn as well.  I strongly suggest getting them as a pair. Please see our other listings.  The black belt is much cheaper that the white belt. We also have black belts for the A700 and F36, G36 which are a different length.

2. The counter can be carefully stripped and cleaned and lubricated sparingly with Mobil DTE-EH.  3.  We also can supply refurbished counters with new belt installed and the whole mechanism stripped cleaned and lubricated.

3. There are quite a few things you can and should consider at the same time as replacing the belts.  The age of your machine means it is prudent to consider a few other tasks and components particularly as you have the cover off . Replacing the counter belts is but one of the minor ones. Do consider a new pinch roller, what condition are your brake linings, lubricating the capstan motor (done from the top particularly if you have or get our later plastic cover with a built in lube hole or you can carefully drill a 2mm hole in your existing one if its not too brittle), our tape guide bearing kit (really easy to replace), cleaning and and demagnetising your heads and whole tape path components (which should be done regularly like every 20 - 50 hours). And, are all your bulbs working?

PLEASE CHECK:  On some batch of counters (some  A77 mk3's ) Revox did away with the white counter belt for a short time before reverting back to it in later models. There were not a lot of this alternative "beltless" counter arrangement.  Check to see if your counter has one - take off the counter and look underneath. (see photo). I dont want to sell you something you dont need.

 NAGRAVOX PARTS – Important Information.

In respect of this listing only. We don’t really want to sell parts only on ebay! Our parts are listed on ebay for the benefit of customers who, at the same time purchase a kit from us. So, unfortunately due to the onerous time consuming administration foisted onto us by ebay and the freight / postal system, we have had to instigate a ‘hidden’ in built handling charge of $30 on the low value part listed here. This is incorporated into the shipping charge (ebay system) and why it may seem exorbitantly expensive. This ‘handling charge’ can be REFUNDED in full ($30) as a discount by requesting a combined invoice for any multiple purchase of a kit plus parts. A ‘hidden’ handling charge does not apply to kits or tape media / accessories and some more expensive parts which are nett. To be clear – there is a refund of any ‘hidden’ handling charge of $30 which is passed as a discount when you request an invoice for multiple items as long as one of these is a kit.  You MUST request a ‘combined shipping’ or ‘send an invoice for combined shipping’ to enable this. Please check on your requested final invoice that I have applied the $30 discount. This message nor ‘hidden’ fee does is absent and is not applicable on those items in our store where the above message does not appear. It is also not applicable to direct dealing past customers. Our raison d’etre is to help enthusiasts fully restore their classic audio equipment to as near original performance using our carefully considered and designed kits. We don’t really wish to cater for occasional spare part sales which, to be blunt is a hassle and time consuming and which, in most cases, is unlikely to solve likely hidden or soon to surface problems on your Revox, Studer or Nagra equipment. Please give consideration and look at our kits in other listings in our store.  Thanks for your consideration and hopefully understanding and I hope we can help in restoring your machine.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ON NAGRAVOX and OUR KITS & SERVICES please look at the detailed information provided in any listed kit.
