Designer Leo Chang, Nike Basketball Footwear Design Director, found inspiration for the design and shoe story in Kevin Durant's personal story, team philosophy, and the significance of the number five. The Zoom KD V features unique elements never seen before in a Kevin Durant shoe: Max Air cushioning in the heel for impact protection, quilted tounge, midsole texture, and heel-counter details.
