The henna dye or colour is obtained from the leaves of the plant Lawsonia inermis which are dried , milled and sifted .
The Henna powder listed above is chemical free .
Henna is suitable for hair colouring , skin tattoo and nails.
Ideal for temporary tattoos.
PREPARATION
The henna colour develop with a lot of heat , so a warm room and a very warm skin is recommended , at all time .
Boil water.
An herbal infusion is recommended , such as an organic green tea , fresh thyme ....
Sieve your henna powder .
Add warm water to the powder stirring gently with a wooden or plastic utensil at all time to obtain a rich smooth - sticky batter.
Our advice : Olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon juice preferably as the lemon juice intensify the red colour .
Contrary to on-line recommendations : Sugar should not be added to the henna as it will change its texture and weaken the colour .
Sugar and lemon can be dabbed on the skin mehndi design so to seal and intensify the colour .

The colour results using henna to dye hair can fall into a wide spectrum from auburn , orange , deep burgundy to chestnut brown .
