Top Quality Brigantine Gorget Steel & Leather Gorget
Masterfully designed by an obsessive armor genius
In the 14th Century coats of plates and brigantine style body armor gave the kind of protection that would keep you alive on the battlefield. In a nod to that construction style these gorgets are modeled upon their pattern to deliver that same protection that modern practitioners need for superior defense for the neck and collarbone. They are built with high quality 6 oz. top grain leather which is hand-stitched together and reinforced with 18 gauge stainless steel plates. The leather and plates are assembled with solid-shank hammer-peined brass rivets for authenticity and durability.
Note: We have included pics of a size Large with a measuring tape. The back of neck plate is about 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) tall and the front of neck plate is about 2" (51 mm).
These gorgets meet the minimum required for neck and throat protection set out by the SCA and most WMA and related groups. When compared with standard gorget they show their particularly suitability for SCA cut-and-thrust practice and for metal blunts in WMA practice due to excellent coverage and protection for the collarbones and upper shoulders. They will deliver the kind of protection you want upon the field of combat.
Sizing:
Small - 13" to 15" neck circumference
Medium - 15" to 17" neck circumference
Large - 17" to 19" neck circumference
Extra Large - 19" to 22" neck circumference

Handling time:
We generally ship in just a few days but we also attend a large event called The Pennsic War takes us away from the workshop for several weeks every July/August. We continue to accept orders while we are gone and will send things out within a few days of returning home. Watch for the away message and note the handling time. Please let us know if you are in urgent need by a specific date and we'll do our very best to accommodate your schedule.
