The grip is simply screwed into the tripod thread of the camera and connected with the included cable. The lock button also gives you the option to pause the release mode. If it is activated, the camera releases once to confirm and is then locked and unlocked with the press of a button. Additionally a ¼ inch thread can be found on the bottom, so the camera and grip can be mounted on a tripod.
