Another crazy project I undertook. Newly manufactured for us to my spec. Why ? Well because if you dont replace these and make sure they are installed - your project is just ... well .. its just half baked. So here they are.
THIS LISTING IS FOR 4x special mounting rubber spacers for the base of the 36 cabinet and 4x felts for the control knobs so the perspex is not scratched.
G36 FINISHING OFF CONSIDERATIONS
The system of supporting the very heavy chassis in the cabinet is accomplished suing a magnesium alloy sub frame and mounting spacer rubbers. With rough handling this often can break or become loose or detached.
When assembling the tape deck into the cabinet there are 4 rubber washers that must be used and retained. These also MUST have aluminum foil wrapped around them. Why? Well because the inside of the cabinet is metal powder coated so as to ensure an adequate electrical screen for the audio electronics. If the chassis does not make good electrical contact with this conducive base on the inside, increased hum and interference may result. Nagravox has replacement ribbed washers which most past goofy boneheads who probably worked on your machine conveniently lose or leave out. Make sure 4 rubbers with foil are there – they are important for mechanical rigidity and electrical contact. Without them covered in foil not only will performance suffer but the whole chassis will not be rigidly secured to the cabinet and things will break fo !
When reassembling the Perspex rotary switch covers and knobs there should be small felt washer between the top knobs and underneath Perspex disks. This is to prevent them binding and scratching. A simple little bit but really important to finish off your machine properly. In another 40 years someone will dismantle your machine again and say to themselves, " someone who cared restored this machine ..."

Our raison d’etre is to help enthusiasts fully restore their classic audio equipment to as near original performance using our carefully considered and designed kits. We don’t really wish to cater for occasional spare part sales which, to be blunt is a hassle and time consuming and which, in most cases, is unlikely to solve likely hidden or soon to surface problems on your Revox, Studer or Nagra equipment.
