A remarkable period of art flourished during the settlement of the American West in the 19 th century.  Through the eyes of a  number of painters the legends of the Golden West were born and captured on canvas.

By the end of the century the artistic saga of the Golden West largely came to an end.  The West that was had vanished, but the art remained.

Has 128 pages (9 x 12-1/2 inches).  The book is in good condition with a jacket that has a couple of small tears along its upper edge.  Illustrated with 106 full-color illustrations as well as an illustrated cover.

Artists represented include Charles M. Russell, Frederick Remington as well as many others.
