Description:  A very nice example of Hodder and Stoughton Yellow Jacket edition, published in 1949. 317 pages with thirteen in-text illustrations by Mabel Lucie Attwell, all present and correct. Original red hardback in the scarce original yellow jacket dustwrapper, with the 2/- price to the inside front flap, and a price overlay sticker partially removed from the spine. The dustjacket has chips and small tears to its extremities (see pictures). The book itself is in very nice condition, with light browning to page edges, and a small neat gift inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1942. Binding sound and square. Internally clean. A nice copy.
