I was tired of taking “poor” cell phone
pictures of the fish I catch, not to mention that they always looked smaller,
so I designed this camera mounting system to take the pictures of me holding
the fish, and not of my hand holding the fish. (See the last pictures above.)
This system allows the kayak fisherman to
take pictures of him/herself holding their catch. It can also be used to digitally record fishing excursions or
just scenic kayak/canoe/boat trips altogether by using a digital camcorder
instead of a digital camera. It’s so easy to use.
1.
Simply screw the camera on tight to the 1/4-20 thread and
align the camera before leaving shore.
2.
Lock the machined camera mount into
position with the thumb screw and store it until it is needed.
3. When ready, set the timer, re-install the mounting arm, hold up your fish and smile. See the last 5 pictures above are the end result of using this system in freshwater and salt water. Looks great, right? Cut and paste this "watch?v=99QtV0HkXIU" address into the YouTube search bar and watch Scotty C. catch a huge mackerel in Australia using this mount! Way to go Scott!
This system allows the operator to move the
camera in three different ways and is made here in the USA.
·
The mounting arm will spin 360
degrees in the mast hole.
·
The machined camera mount spins
freely 360 degrees until locked in place.
·
The camera mounting head tilts 90
degrees for taking pictures of larger, longer fish, like tarpon, sailfish,
musky, tuna, mackerel, etc.
·
This system is machined from a
heavy-duty industrial plastic and aluminum so it will not rust.
·
Each one is made and machined
personally by me
·
This mount is strong, light weight,
and very sturdy.
·
Cleaning the camera mount needs to
be done with cold soapy water and a clean towel and allowed to dry over night.
· Do not use strong cleaning agents or thinning chemicals, as they will most likely ruin the finish.
I offer 8 styles to date, including this "goose-necked" version, a shorter
