Best Practice - Fit, Forget and Save £££

In our experience, most ABS Faults are caused by the combination of an ABS Reluctor Ring Fault along with an ABS Sensor Fault.
 
We often see customer's returning to purchase an ABS Sensor after purchasing an ABS Ring from us a week before. If there has been contact between the two ABS Components, it is very likely that both need to be replaced.

Based on this, we always recommend that you replace both the ABS Rings and ABS Sensors and take advantage of our extended Lifetime Guarantee on both components as well as an added discount when both ABS Kits are replaced on your vehicle. In addition, we supply you with our Unique FREE ABS Reluctor Retainer and also FREE Hub Nut (where available) (safety critical components that must be used / replaced!)

Fault with your ABS?

If your vehicle is experiencing any of the following symptoms, we would recommend having the ABS Reluctor Rings inspected and ABS Sensors tested - most garages will do this free of charge for you and will have fitted our pd ABS Sensors and ABS Reluctor Rings previously.

We see this day in day out. The most common ABS fault in our experience - a cracked, corroded or swollen ABS Ring on the driveshaft. Looking under the vehicle, whilst rotating the driveshaft, you are looking for any cracks, missing teeth or shiny surfaces on the ABS Reluctor Ring. On rear wheel drive vehicles, such as BMW's, you will need to pull the ABS Sensor and look down the sensor hole - any shiny surface on the ring and same applies.

pd ABS RING & KIT FITTING GUIDE








Window Style ABS Ring with Lifetime Guarantee
Approx Fitting Time: 60-90 Minutes
  1. Remove old ABS Sensor.
  2. Clean ABS Sensor Tube thoroughly.
  3. Generally there is no need to remove the driveshaft fully from the vehicle, this process can be achieved in situ.
  4. Firstly, you need to remove the old ABS Ring from the Driveshaft / CV Joint by drifting off.
  5. Clean the Driveshaft / CV Joint using a wire brush / emery cloth to remove ALL loose corrosion. DO NOT grind / file or clearance will be lost.
  6. Apply some pd ABS Ring Retaining Compound to Driveshaft / CV Joint. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with all of our ABS Rings & ABS Kits)
  7. Drift the new ABS Ring into position.
  8. Allow to cure (approx 10 Mins).
  9. Re-assemble using new Hub Nut. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with most of our ABS Kits)
  10. Fit new ABS Sensor. (supplied with our ABS Kits)
 






Toothed Style ABS Ring with Lifetime Guarantee
Approx Fitting Time: 60-90 Minutes
  1. Remove old ABS Sensor.
  2. Clean ABS Sensor Tube thoroughly.
  3. Generally there is no need to remove  the driveshaft fully from the vehicle, this process can be achieved in situ.
  4. Firstly, you need to remove the old ABS Ring from the Driveshaft / CV Joint by drifting off.
  5. Clean the Driveshaft / CV Joint using a wire brush / emery cloth to remove ALL loose corrosion. DO NOT grind / file or clearance will be lost.
  6. Apply heat to the ABS Ring to allow it to expand (placing in the oven or the use of a heat gun is sufficient).
  7. Apply some Retaining Compound to Driveshaft / CV Joint. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with all of our ABS Rings & ABS Kits)
  8. Using suitable heat-resistant gloves, position the new ABS Ring and drift into place.
  9. Allow to cool and cure (approx 10 Mins).
  10. Re-assemble using new Hub Nut. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with most of our ABS Kits)
  11. Fit new ABS Sensor. (supplied with our ABS Kits)
 






Magnetic Driveshaft ABS Ring with Lifetime Guarantee
Approx Fitting Time: 60-90 Minutes 
**DO NOT expose ABS Ring to strong magnetic fields**
  1. Remove old ABS Sensor.
  2. Clean ABS Sensor Tube thoroughly.
  3. Generally there is no need to remove the driveshaft fully from the vehicle, this process can be achieved in situ.
  4. Firstly, you need to remove the old ABS Ring from the Driveshaft / CV Joint by drifting off.
  5. Clean the Driveshaft / CV Joint using a wire brush / emery cloth to remove ALL loose corrosion. DO NOT grind / file or clearance will be lost.
  6. Apply some Retaining Compound to Driveshaft / CV Joint. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with all of our ABS Rings & ABS Kits)
  7. Place new ABS Ring into ABS Fitting Tool (supplied with some of our ABS Kits) and slide over the end of Driveshaft. Using Hub Nut, wind the complete unit into place.
  8. Once seated, wind back the complete unit and remove.
  9. Allow to cure (approx 10 Mins).
  10. Re-assemble using new Hub Nut. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with most of our ABS Kits)
  11. Fit new ABS Sensor. (supplied with our ABS Kits)
 






Brake Disc/Drum ABS Ring with Lifetime Guarantee
Approx Fitting Time: 15 Minutes 
**DO NOT expose ABS Ring to strong magnetic fields**
  1. Remove old ABS Sensor
  2. Clean ABS Sensor Tube thorougly
  3. Remove Brake Drum or Brake Disc from vehicle.
  4. Firstly, you need to remove the old ABS Ring from the Brake Disc / Brake Drum by drifting off.
  5. Clean around the mounting position using a wire brush.
  6. Apply some Retaining Compound around the mounting position. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with all of our ABS Rings & ABS Kits)
  7. Drift the new ABS Ring into position using a suitable drift (block of wood etc). DO NOT impact the delicate black area with any sharp / blunt objects).
  8. Allow to cure (approx 10 Minutes).
  9. Re-assemble using new Hub Nut. (supplied FREE OF CHARGE with most of our ABS Kits)
  10. Fit new ABS Sensor. (supplied with our ABS Kits)
