LES BALLET AFRICAINS PEACE AND FREEDOM PARTY SILKSCREEN POSTER

HEIGHT OF THE PSYCHEDELIC HAIGHT-ASHBURY ERA

INFLUENCED BY THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY AND THE FEMINIST MOVEMENT OF THE 1960'S

This limited edition serigraph artwork is extremely rare.  The only other exemplar I could find any intel on was at the Oakland Museum of California.

The dimensions are an impressive 17 x 22 inches.  The paper is archival and suitable for framing. The image is a strong impression richly inked with black and red.  Please note the photograph shows the artwork under 2 sheets of glass.  There is not a line running through the center of the artwork.  This work is in excellent condition.

The artwork will be shipped unframed via a secure art tube.

Provenance:  This serigraph was purchased from an estate in Northern California, USA.

Background:  This silkscreen poster is highly symbolic of the Psychedelic Style of the 1960's and symbolizes the Peace and Freedom Party, The Black Panther Party, and The Feminist movement.  Moreover, it is a strong coincidence and of contemporary importance that the musical artist, Beyonce recently performed a tribute to the The Black Panther Party at the Superbowl 50 half time celebration.  This rare artwork is an important piece of history for American pop culture, Black African American history and Black Americana.  The artist is anonymous.  However, the work resembles the school for Psychedelic artists such as: Wes Wilson, John Myers, Lee Conklin, Stanley Mouse and Bill Graham.  These artists and promoters were active in the print shops in the San Francisco Bay Area during the period.

Owning fine art is a valuable long term asset that will benefit generations to come.  A Certificate of Authenticity hand signed by Laurent Ashton will accompany this artwork.

Thank you for your business,
