Definition / Usage

Cleanser: a facial care product that is used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, dirt and other types of pollutants from the skin of the face. This helps to unclog pores and prevent skin conditions such as acne.

Toner: refers to a lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on the face.

Primer: a cream or lotion applied before another cosmetic to improve coverage and lengthen the amount of time the cosmetic lasts on the face. There are different kinds of cosmetic primers such as foundation primer, eye lid primer, lip primer, and mascara primer.

Lip gloss: is a product used primarily to give lips a glossy lustre and sometimes subtle color.
